ABOUT ME

​

I am a 19-year-old man who lives in Vincennes, Indiana in a recovery house. I was born in Virginia. After a couple of years I moved to Evansville, Indiana with my parents. I was raised by my mother and father and graduated from high school my Junior year. Living the life I was living for the past four years, it gave me a lot of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and I went as far as being suicidal. I started to live a life of chaos and self-destruction as I started to use drugs as a coping mechanism. It started as little as smoking weed and within a couple of years had escalated to my drug of choice, Fentanyl. It was a vicious cycle I was living in that is very hard to get out of. And that is what I am doing right now. I have been clean for six months now by the grace of his higher power. I continue to keep myself busy and my mindset positive. I have found a passion that I love doing and it also helps me to express myself.

ABOUT MY BOOK

;You're Not Alone; is a book about living a life of being in addiction, the mental health issues and the thoughts that a person has in addiction and recovery. The book is based off of a 19-year-olds journey through recovering from addiction; how addiction has changed his life completely. Also, how it has made him who he is today.

My hope is that my journey may encourage others in addiction and recovery. You are not alone!
